What is YouTXT?

YouTXT is a free, web based, SMS text messaging service. You can send and receive SMS, setup an online address book and access your account from any PC connected to the Internet.

Why is YouTXT a free service?

The YouTXT service is free for texters and paid for by our sponsors.
The free credits are supported by YouTXT sponsors who utilise the service for promoting their products and services. The sponsors place banner and text ads on the YouTXT site, emails and SMS footers, and coupon advertising.

In return for your participation in our sponsor's marketing, you can send SMS for free.

How do I send an SMS from YouTXT?

Once you have registered and logged in, select the "Send SMS" menu. Enter the destination mobile number or select recipients from your address book, type your message in the space provided and click the "Send SMS" button.

How do I check my SMS replies?

Log in to your account and select the "Inbox" menu.

You can also receive email notifications when you receive replies by going to "My Details" > "Edit My Details" and changing "Replies sent to:" to "Inbox and Email"

Can I send free SMS to mobile numbers overseas?

You can use YouTXT to send free SMS online to 437 networks in 158 countries.

How do I add contacts to my address book?

Log in to your account, select the "Address Book" from menu. Click "Add New Contact", provide details for your contact, and click "Add Contact".

What do I need to use YouTXT?

You need your own mobile phone, email address and access to a computer with an Internet connection.

What are the steps for setting up my account?

Please follow the simple steps below for creating your account:

1. Click on Sign up for YouTXT and complete the online form,

2. You will receive an email for confirming your email address, once you've completed and submitted the account registration form,

3. By clicking on the confirmation link in the email, a new browser window will open showing that your email address has confirmed successfully. You are now logged in to your YouTXT account,

4. To receive SMS credits you will need to confirm your mobile number. Enter your mobile number (in international format) and click on the "Send Confirmation Code" button. You should see a message informing you that a confirmation code has been sent to your mobile phone.

5. You will receive a text message containing the confirmation code on your mobile phone. Please enter the code in the "Enter Confirmation Code" box and click on "Confirm Mobile" button. On successful confirmation of your mobile phone number you will receive a set number of SMS credits.

I have completed the sign up form but I didn't receive a confirmation email. What should I do?

You should receive your confirmation email within a few minutes, however, if your confirmation email fails to arrive within 30 minutes, and you have checked it is not in your email junk folder, please contact support.

I sent the confirmation code to my mobile phone, but I never received the message. What now?

If your mobile phone does not receive the SMS message containing the confirmation code, please contact Technical Support.

How do I change my mobile number?

Log in to your account and click on the "Change Mobile Number" link located in the "My Details" page. You will need to send an activation code to your new number and confirm it before you can update your mobile number.

How do I change my password?

Log in to your account and click on "My Details" link. On my details page click on "Update My Details" button and change your password at the top of the page.

Can I purchase additional YouTXT credits?

You can purchase additional YouTXT credits with subsidised prices by logging in to your account and clicking on the "Buy Credits" link on the menu bar.

Can you stop sending me promotional SMS and E-mails?

As a member of YouTXT, and with the permission you give us when you agree to the Terms and conditions, you will receive a limited number of emails and SMS containing promotional material from our sponsors. Without the support of sponsors we would not be able to offer these free services to our members.

If you wish to unsubscribe from YouTXT and stop receiving promotional material, please contact us.

What sort of advertising will I receive?

YouTXT members will receive email and SMS promotions based on their nominated interest areas and preferences.

How often will you send me promotional emails?

Most YouTXT members will receive a maximum of one promotional email per week.

How often will you send me promotional SMS messages?

YouTXT members may receive promotional SMS once or twice each week.

What are YouTXT Credits?

YouTXT credits are the virtual currency used to send SMS with YouTXT, and can only be used on the YouTXT site. You cannot redeem YouTXT credits for any other form of currency.

How do I earn YouTXT Credits?

You can earn YouTXT credits in a variety of ways, including:
1. Clicking on and viewing the large ads on the "Earn Free Credits" page, and answering the questions underneath the ad
2. Clicking on and viewing the image ads or text ads found on any of YouTXT pages
3. Signing in each day
4. Referring friends to YouTXT

How many YouTXT Credits do I receive for each event?

The number of credits you earn varies depending on the type of event. For example, you may get 1 credit for clicking an advertisement and viewing the sponsors website, and 2.5 credits for correctly answering a question ad.

I have just referred a friend, when will I get my free YouTXT Credits?

You will be awarded your free credits once your friend has created an account and successfully confirmed his/her mobile number.

Can I refer more than one friend?

You can refer as many friends as you like while the offer remains available. There is a limit of 10 referrals per day to prevent abuse.

How do I receive the free SMS credits?

You will receive a set number of free SMS credits once you've signed up, completed setup and activated your account.

Is there a limit on the number of SMS I can send per day?

Yes, this limit is by default 5 SMS per day (50 credits). However, if you buy credits this limit can be increased.

I've forgotten my password. What should I do?

There is a "Forgot your Password" link located on the Login page.

Can I access my account in other countries to send free SMS?

Yes, you can use your YouTXT account from any PC connected to the internet.

What do you do with the information that I provide during the sign up process?

The information you provide for "Account Details" is used for the security of our service. Your "Personal Details" are used to increase the relevance of the promotional material that we send you.

As an example, if you reside in Australia, there is no point in sending you promotional material that is relevant only to residents of the United States.

Will YouTXT sell or share my e-mail address or other personal information?

We will never sell or share our members personal details or email addresses and we are committed to keeping your private details confidential and secure. Our sponsors will NOT have any access to your personal details.
